About Us
The Margaret E. Blizzard Senior Activity Center is a state-of-the-art recreation and education center located in Brenham, Texas, serving Washington County and all its surrounding counties.
In January of 2016, the Washington County Healthy Living Association (WCHLA) completed construction of the Margaret E. Blizzard Senior Activity Center (SAC) to serve our local seniors. Today, the Senior Activity Center strives to stay current with the needs of our ever-increasing aging population. Our seniors are living longer and must focus on staying healthy, active, and independent. Helping to achieve these goals is WCHLA's mission; it is who we are, and what we strive to do—not just for the 5000+ senior residents of Washington County, but for the benefit of all citizens of Washington County.
The use of our facility has grown since we opened and continues to grow. Currently, we serve approximately 150 – 250 members with daily activities and educational programs. We also feed approximately 30,000 congregate meals to our members and an additional 12,000 meals to the homebound yearly.
